Vanzant Ranch Sorting believes consistent, constructive and well balanced training produces consistent, quiet and well balanced sorting horses. We carefully breed and select horses to train. We do not accept outside horses for training.
Our bred or selected colts are started by Mike Vanzant or by carefully pre-screened trainers. After an initial starting period they are slowly and systematically introduced to cattle and the job of sorting.
No horse is pushed past its learning abilities but challenged at just the right speed to produce performance and understanding of the sport. We strive to produce a quick and quiet sorter who turns heads not because of it's over-active response to cattle, but because the horse truly understands how to efficiently work cattle and respond to a riders requests.

WestWay Training Facility - Mike and Ashley West start colts and re-educates adult horses. They also compete and train in ranch sorting and understand the needs and requirements of starting a ranch sorting horse.
